At Wye Valley Canoes on the east side of the Brecon Beacons National Park you can hire Canadian canoes, double kayaks or single kayaks and paddle off downstream to Hay-on-Wye which is 5 miles and will take you 2 hours, or to the Boat Inn at Whitney which is approx 10 miles and will take you 4 hours.

Canadian canoes are ideal for two adults and a small child

Whether you are off for a few hours or a few days we provide all the equipment you will need – boat, paddle, buoyancy aid, waterproof barrels to store your kit and a map. This equipment and recovery by minibus from wherever you get to is included in the hire charge. We give you a safety talk before you set out but no previous experience is necessary in the canoes or the double kayaks. Previous experience preferred for kayaking.
