True Taste of the Beacons Hamper is filled with tasty treats and picnic snacks from a range of Brecon Beacons producers who scooped Gold, Silver and Bronze awards in last year’s Wales the True Taste Food and Drink Awards – dubbed the Welsh food Oscars.

It is available for a special price of £39.95, which includes packaging and delivery, and represents a 26 per cent saving on the recommended retail price of £54.

Sales are limited to a single hamper per stay.

Orders need to be confirmed by email  by noon on the  Wednesday before your stay.

The Brecknock Wildlife Trust work for the protection of the wildlife habitats and species in the old county of Brecknock and put on events for adults and children throughout the year.

Forestry Commision – Garwnant
Garwnant has been completely transformed in 2010 to include a new restaurant, education/conference facilities, information centre and toilets. Try forest walks, children’s play area, mini-MTB mountain bike trails, range of exciting events and more!

The Welsh Venison Centre, Bwlch
The Welsh Venison Centre produces premium quality venison for the wholesale, catering and retail market. Their venison is produced to the high standards of the Quality Mark from deer reared on their farm and other accredited farms. There is also a farm shop selling fresh vegetables, local cheese and other goodies for the larder.

Penpont Farm Shop
Fresh organic fruit, vegetables, and flowers grown in the walled gardens are now sold in our farm shop. The shop is open from mid June through to Christmas every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10:30am – 6:00pm

Brecon Farmers Market
Brecon hosts a farmers market on the second Saturday of every month but the town also has 3 independent butchers, a fishmonger and green grocer open 6 days a week so there is no shortage of local food to be bought!

Above ground there is plenty to see and do – come face to face with some of the largest animals ever to walk the Earth in our Dinosaur Park, one of the biggest collections of life-sized dinosaur models in the world! Witness how our ancestors lived during the Iron Age, and enjoy the company of our friendly giants the Shire Horses. Down on the farm, children will have a great time in the covered play areas should there be any excess energy waiting to be used up before the journey home!

These extraordinary ruins crown a precipitous crag in a remote corner of the Brecon Beacons National Park.  Carreg Cennen, its origins shrouded in obscurity, is the ultimate romantic ruin. A visit to Carreg Cennen is an adventure – not least for the sight of the breathtaking 100mtrs/325ft cliff on which the castle is perched and the dramatic trek through the passageway cut into the cliff-face, which leads to a natural cave beneath the fortifications.

There is a carpark and cafe beneath the castle with plenty of walks at the foot of the cliffs to keep you busy all day!
