Glynmeddig  is close to some great places to eat in the Brecon Beacons. There is local pub just two miles up the road – The Shoemakers Arms. There is a lovely walk from Glynmeddig to The Shoemakers Arms along a pretty track on the western side of the river.

Having been closed for 2 years the pub was bought by the local community in February 2000 and after extensive refurbishment opened in September 2001.

Eileen and Richard now run the pub on behalf of the community and offer food and wine for all tastes. There is real ale, a beer garden, wheel chair access and customer parking.

Foods is available in the evening from Wednesday – Sunday and bar snacks are available at lunch time. Private parties are welcome by arrangement.

Just 2 miles down the road in Sennybridge there is also The Whitehouse Inn which does good food and good beer any day of the week and offers a warm welcome – call 01874 636396  to book.  

Glynmeddig is however also lucky enough to have a couple of the best places to eat in the Brecon Beacons within 25 minutes drive – try for a treat: -

The Felinfach Griffin – rated by AA Gill as  ’Exceptional anywhere in Europe… in Wales, it was as damn near miraculous as the Angel of Mons’

The White Swan at Llanfrynach – particularly in the Summer when you can enjoy the terrace outside
